New Vision Civics
For Every Jamaican!

New Vision Civics, a transformative book with an expansive coverage of civic information set against our colourful and dynamic history.

Welcome to My World of Books

Fellow Jamaicans and Friends of Jamaica:

I greet you warmly. Welcome to my corner of purposeful Jamaican books.

This time, we are pleased to not only feature my latest book, New Vision Civics, but to get you involved in this generational initiative to re-introduce civics to the school room. Our youth is a splendid place to begin, as we need this critical mass to help shift our present realities towards a more productive and less volatile future.

Many might be familiar with my major works, as my mission is to archive the valuable history of our people and present this in a palatable and entertaining format.

Through the years I have been encouraging noteworthy Jamaicans to write their personal stories (autobiography) as this gives authenticity to our history. (See more at About Us)

Jamaicans are at a pivotal point in our history. Only by knowing the milestones of our journey will we be able to fully grasp the tremendous progress that has been made and the challenges that we have overcome. Read, “The Jamaican Woman: A Celebration” and “Shining Through.”

So, give serious thought to learning our history and our journey as a people.

There’s much to learn in this little corner.
Best, Joanne

Shirley Jarrett, Hotel Administrator

“New Vision Civics is timely! Despite its critical importance, civics has been absent from the school curriculum for too long. This subject, once a staple of education, is urgently needed to lift the bar of understanding of how to function effectively in society and with government. Our students will form the critical mass from which […]

“I love this. I taught Civics for many years at the institution where I worked. I always emphasize the importance of Government and citizens’ Rights and Responsibilities, to make them knowledgeable of their role as law abiding citizens.”
